Join us for Dementia Friends Champions Training, an international movement to reduce the stigma of dementia. People with dementia sometimes need a helping hand to go about their daily lives and feel included in their local community.
The session aims to equip people with the knowledge and resources to deliver Dementia Friends information sessions in their communities. The focus is on helping individuals with dementia to live alone.
Dementia Friends for Individuals Living Alone provides basic information, including:
- Types, signs and symptoms of dementia
- Medication management
- Social isolation
- Home safety
This program will provide practical ways to support individuals with dementia to live alone, including communication and engagement strategies and information on vital community resources.
Attendees will receive a Dementia Friends session workbook, Champions Guide and other materials.
Two (2) hours of Ohio Counseling, Social Work, and Nursing continuing education will be available at no cost. Register today.
